​How Do I Provide a Silhouette?

 

If you live in NYC, your subject could come to Weil Studio in Greenwich Village so that we can make the perfect silhouette image for you. 

 

or FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ​Take a profile photo of your subject from mid-chest to the top of the head.

• Choose a well-lit area and position your subject ideally wearing dark clothing against a white wall or a high-contrast background.

• Try to avoid lighting from directly above. If the background is brighter than your subject, all the better.

• Look at the photo, if there are shadows beside your subject, move your subject and try again.

• For the best silhouette effect, ensure the neck is visible. If your subject has long hair, consider tying it up. Please avoid hoodies or scarves.

 

If your first attempt isn’t ideal, we will work with you to get it right. Please send us a high rez photo (ideally raw format).        Email at full size to info@weiljewels.com. 

 

Does the Pendant come with a chain?

The pendant comes on a waxed leather cord. We also have chains available for sale.

How is a Pendant Made?

 

We engrave a silhouette photo onto a gold or silver disk. 
The engraving is permanent and will not fade.
The disk is inserted into a gold or silver pendant and sealed to a glass cabochon using UV epoxy resin
